Honduras Report

Sunday Services on September the 5th will include testimonies and photos of the Honduras building mission. God did some amazing things that you’ll want to hear and see.

Summer Review

So many things stand out this summer, it was one of our best. Here a just a few of the highlights. Two teams went to Honduras, one medical and one building. Our medical team saw over 1000 patients, many with severe physical needs, the optical team gave out approximately 700 eyeglasses and the vetenary team helped over 250 farm animals. Our building team completed a church building that was 3 years in the making. 63 Hondurans came to the first service in the pouring rain. Our youth and children had many events over the summer – VBS with over a 100, sleep overs, beach trips, ball games all with record breaking attendance. Our ‘Not So Perfect Family Series” was well recieved and will be blesssing families for a long time to come. The Summer included water slides, picnics, barbecues and 8 babies being dedicated to the Lord just to top it all off. In all of this the truth of Jesus was declared and the love of God was experienced first hand. The Fall looks to be just as full as we begin our ‘Just Walk Accross the Room” campaign on September 12 and the Women’s retreat the first weekend of October. The year will conclude with the theme of ‘Simply the Holidays’ that will de-emphasize the material and emphasize the spiritual. We’re looking forward to being just as blessed in the coming months as we were in the Summer.

Surrender Update

Hey Everyone…………

Just so you all know…Surrender has been having a BLAST this summer! We had a BLAST at the SurrenderSkateNight (both of them), We had BLAST at the Surrender Angels Game, We had a BLAST at the SurrenderOvernighter 2010 !!!!!!!! So many BLASTS its like fireworks!!!

upcoming….. Youth Work Day – THIS Saturday 9am – Noon, Knotts Berry Farm – Next Tuesday, End-of-Summer Bar-B-Que – Next Saturday……. if you are one of the youth (jr high / high school) you don’t wanna miss these things…I AM SO SERIOUS IT IS NOT EVEN FUNNY !! well…its kinda funny!

Join this great approach to health and weight control. This unique Christ centered study tackles all four areas of your life – mental, physical, emotional and spiritual.

It starts Wednesday September 1st at 6:30 PM to 8 PM at the West Cypress campus.
There is a $15 book fee. Register as soon as possible!

Ever just say some stupid stuff when your trying to share Christ with someone and it was your one and only shot? West Cypress and Encounter are offerring a training series to equip believers on how to make the most of an opportunity to speak to someone about Jesus. It includes Sunday morning teaching, mid week discussion groups, the book Just Walk Accross the Room by Bill Hybels and a participants guide. Learn not to unnecessarily drive people away and gain some real insight on saying something significant in everyday conversations with the people you meet and know. It all begins Sunday September 12

Not So Perfect Family Series

This is a six week series beginninging on August 1st. We’ll start with Learning to love one another inspite of our imperfections. August the 8th will be How to have a good family fight. Next on the 17th are some timeless truths for raising children – Your child was made to achieve something important, but what? August the 22nd we’ll discuss Why and how marriage should improve with time. The 29th will deal with the Differences between men and women that make a difference. Finally September 5th identifies the Boundaries of marriage. What are the absolutes in marriage and why? This series is meant to be an open and honest approach on how tough it is to be a family and why its so important to have a good family life.
